An exciting choice of outdoor program activities is also open to them at the council’s seven camp properties. The council’s 15,000 adult volunteers are offered comprehensive opportunities for training, skill building, and enrichment courses while expanding their awareness of all that the lower Hudson River Valley has to offer.
Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson has as its goal to provide a consistent Girl Scout experience, one that builds courage, confidence, and character in girls so that they may make the world a better place.
About Girl Scouts of the USA: Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) is the world’s preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls — all girls — where, in an accepting and nurturing environment, girls build character and skills for success in the real world. In partnership with committed adults, girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives — like strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth. Founded in 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low, Girl Scouts’ membership has grown from 18 members in Savannah, Georgia, to 3.6million members throughout the United States.
A Lasting Legacy: More than 50 million American women enjoyed Girl Scouting during their childhood — and that number continues to grow as GSUSA continues to inspire, challenge, and empower girls everywhere.
