Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson Mission Moment
September, 2008

US Soldiers in Baghdad send thanks to Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson -
Over 40,000 boxes of cookies were shipped overseas as part of the Operation Cookie Drop campaign held by our council.

Thanks to the support and purchases from people all over the Hudson Valley, Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson is able to send a taste of home around the world.

Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson Celebrate Community Partnerships
with our first Community Partnership Luncheon!

On Wednesday, March 12, 2008 Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson joined with Community and Corporate partners to celebrate the birthday of Girl Scouts.  We were honored to have News 12 Anchor, Amy Nay as our Mistress of Ceremonies.  Our Leadership Award was presented to the Women of Swiss RE and was accepted by Donna Kinnaird, President of Americas Life & Health. Our Humanitarian Award was presented to Jane Goldwasser of New Directions Consulting, Inc. and a GSHH Board Member.  Alicia Truesdail of QSP/Reader's Digest and Carol Sheridan of Combe, Inc. co-chaired the successful event.  We are thankful to our sponsors:

GOLD: Combe, Inc and Swiss Re
SILVER: Avon, Inc., Con Ed, Jessye Norman, PepsiCo, SKCG Group, The Reader's Digest Association
as well as our All County Bronze: Entergy and Key Bank.

Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson serves 34,000 girls with 15,000 adult volunteers throughout the seven counties of the lower Hudson Valley.  Our mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.  We cannot do it alone and count on the support of caring community partners who share our mission and passion to develop leaders for tomorrow.

Annual Family Campaign - UNLIMITED POSSIBILITIES!  Donate Online Today!  (At the final step, send us a note to credit your gift toward a community goal).
The Annual Family Campaign is a contribution by families of girl members to the Girl Scouts. It is an investment in development of new opportunities and activities for each girl on a local level. Families can make Girl Scouts their charity of choice and they are contributing to the successful future of that special girl in their lives. Your involvement is important.  We understand you may have questions and have created a resource of frequently asked questions and information about our council. Complete the individual donation form today!

Girl Sponsorship
You can make a significant difference in the life of a girl by becoming a Girl Scout sponsor. Consider a gift of $250.00 or more to sponsor a girl that cannot afford her books, pins and uniform.  Help a girl develop character, self-esteem, decision-making skills and a commitment to service.

Camperships

Some girls would never go to camp without financial support. It is an adventure that is the single most remembered experience of our alumnae.  A gift of $250 will make camp possible for a girl – providing a life long memory of the adventure, fun, friendship and learning in an outdoor setting.

Corporate Funding
Good corporate citizenship benefits the community as well as the company. Many corporations have set aside funds for community support. Whether is a matching gift, sponsorship of a project, employee volunteer recognition or a corporate donation, it all makes a difference. Click here for information on sponsorships or upcoming events.

Grants and Foundations
Grants provide funding to support special programs and develop new learning initiatives. Science, engineering and math programs, sports, health and fitness program and money management and investment programs were all new efforts funded by grants in the past year.
