Design your Future is this year’s Fall Product Sale theme and all of the activities in the Be a Reader activity booklet build on this theme—teaching girls to construct plans, create opportunities and capture their dreams.  The design theme encourages girls to draw on their creativity and ingenuity in concrete and visible ways as they gain financial responsibility. The Fall Product Sale is quick, simple and profitable for troops.  While earning participation patches girls can earn troop profits selling magazines, candy and nuts.  Every family subscribes to magazines, but they also make wonderful holiday gifts!

How can I use Fall Product Sale to teach my girls new skills?

The Fall Product Sale program pieces help you with age appropriate troop activities for every level of Scouting.  The Be a Reader activity booklet is a guide for troop meetings—and girls can earn Be a Reader patches as they complete the requirements.  Patches are available for purchase at council shops.  Booklets link activities to age-appropriate Journeys and earned awards.

What else can we use to have fun and learn ?

Be a Reader Address Adventures is another troop meeting piece—with career path ideas, featuring questions and prompts designed for girls to learn more about the 50 United States.  This year girls can work on designing their future, finding what career paths might be right for them.  A map of the United States is the vehicle for learning---and girls can use their completed address booklet addresses to find where their addressees live.  Completion of these activities earns address adventures patches, available in council shops.
